Happy New Year

End of 2006 marked slow blogging days for this blog. However, this would not prevent me from wishing a happy new year for everyone.

I hope the new year brings us happiness and health. That’s all I want. The rest is easier when we have those.

See you next year with more of my exciting blogging.

Pluggd Promises Podcast Search: Hear Here!

One of the main problems with podcasts is not being able to search inside a podcast just like text based web content.

Pluggd seems to have the solution for that and it seems very promising from their demo. They are using speech processing and semantics to pinpoint the sections of the audio that contain the search term. It is called Hear Here!

Tune of the Week: Count Boogie

This week’s tune of the week will come from Count Boogie. One of his mp3 were dropped on my podcatcher by Daily Dose Podcast.

On his site, he has Rock-Pop-Punk, Acoustic-Soft Rock, Comedy and Funky-RAP categories with many songs available for download.

Although users were anonymized by using some unique numbers, it didn’t take long for people to personally identify a user by cross-referencing with other public data. In this talk, Malin also emphasized the point that even though data is anonymous, it may still be possible to identify who it belongs to by using other publicly available data, which in his interest is the medical data.

Waiting for Your Muse

The above image that I stole from Creating Passionate Users’ post suggesting not waiting for the muse to get work done, perfectly illustrates the situation.

It is hard to deny that there are times that I wait for the muse to come to start getting work done. The waiting game gets worse when there are lots of things to get done and the stress is trying to kill the creativity. However, that stubborn muse insist on not coming at those times. It just does not come by itself without any real invitation and turns out waiting is not a real invitation.
