Digg This

I have heard about Digg from Silicon Valley Sleuth via Scoble. Is it a Slashdot killer? We don’t know yet, but it definetely seems cool. The technology behind the site lets the stories “digged” carried to the front page. For this to be effective, in my opinion, there should be a good number of “active users”. What I mean by active users is that, there should be good number of people who do not just read the front page stories. Otherwise, the front page stories will be digged more and new stories will less likely to be discovered. I am not the “explorer” type most of the time, since I do not have much time to explore stories on the web. For this reason, I like Findory type of sites (not that I am comparing Digg with Findory) that bring stories to my attention depending on the stories that I have read.

Well, anyway, back to Digg. As of this post, there seem to be total of 466 stories. This shows the site has not been much popular yet but I am sure it will get its share of popularity pretty soon.
