Depressed Nashville

An email circulated in the internal mailing list today. According to a report in Men’s Health Magazine, Nashville is the 17th most depressed U.S city. Results are based on antidepressant sales, suicide rates and number of days inhabits reported being depressed. Fortunately, we are not alone at the 17th spot. Long Beach, CA and Los Angeles CA share our depression level!

TRUST

Vanderbilt was in the news today because of ISIS‘ involvement with the Team for Research in Ubiquitous Secure Technology (TRUST) that will be lead by UC Berkeley. It is a $19M research project about cyber security.

I am not involved with this project here at ISIS but it is a pride to be a part of an organization that is involved with such a big project.

Google Effect

I was looking at that nice Google logo all day today and decided to click on it, then clicked on the first link in the results and was amused by the message:

“Due to high demand, our Leonardo pages are offline for today. Please check back tomorrow.”

This has to be the “Google Effect”.
