Couple weeks ago I had come across a report that a Google employee was blogging. He was giving out some details about the financial details of the company and comparing Google with Microsoft at his blog Ninetyninezeros. I heard about this when he made the site offline and it was not reached from Google’s cache. Apparently, he came back on late January but not it is being reported that he was recently fired. He may very well be the first one to be fired in a big company.
I put my blog on the BlogMap. In other words, my blog is now geo-coded. Go see Chandu Thota’s BlogMap, search for my blog and see how you can go from my blog to yours! You know I am kidding about the directions, right?
Google Maps is here. It is beta as always and my first impression is positive. I loved the interface. Definitely check it out. I don’t think I will go back to Mapquest.
I love trying out new software. So, when I heard from Scoble that a new RSS Aggregator for Outlook came out, I wanted to see how it is. The new software that can be seen as a competitor for Newsgator is from You Software (did they try to make me feel I am the software, or I own the software?) and called You Subscribe. I immediately downloaded and installed the public preview release, which is free and tried to add some feeds by browsing through their pre-selected group of feeds (no OMPL import yet). I selected bunch of feeds, clicked add and it locked Outlook for good. May be I should have given it another shot, but I guess I will uninstall it until a more mature preview release comes along. It will be on my radar though.
Seems like GMail is up to something, may be a world wide launch, since the number of available invites jumped to 50 in my account. I haven’t handed out GMail invites here before but I want finish these invites. So, if you are reading this blog and do not have a GMail account yet, just drop me a line at turkerkeskinpala at gmail dot com with your name and your email address and consider it done.
